Many dealers will try and get over MSRP as long as they can. They actually did that with of all cars the G8. For the first month or so they were asking 4k over MSRP. Since GM will be building 100k cars in the first 12 months I think it is safe to say that within a few weeks or perhaps a couple of months cars will be availible for MSRP or under. If ordering I would do the deal for MSRP or less otherwise I would not consider ordering from the dealer. This car is not like the ZR1, there will be plenty to go around pretty quickly as GM has a substantial manufacturing effort dedicated to this model.

CamaroScotty is a salesman after my own heart... volume and value keep you in the game for the long run. No sense charging 10k over MSRP if that's the only one you sell for 3 months when you can get out 10 in the same time frame by just charging MSRP. Then you get 2 of the most valuable things to a saleman: a good rep and repeat business!!

100,000 in the first year is 10,000 a month. GM will want to build and sell. If too many dealers add to the MSRP after April 09 I think GM will investigate why??? MSRP should be very easy by April 09 IMO.
I want to know when White will be available??? Thats white with black stripes??? |

May have to come to you for a Convertible. Bit of a hike from MD but might be worth it.

All you have to do is have the financing pre approved. Take that with you and you'll get the car at MSRP. No Chevy dealer nowdays is gonna let a customer with the cash walk.

Well I always keep a junker as a backup car. So even if I had to wait a couple months I would not sweat it. Well I would because my backup pos has no AC.

I always have my loan preapproved through my credit union or bank. I never use the financing through the dealer. It gives them too much control over you. Last vehicle I bought I used the Blank Check deal through Capital One. I was approved for a maximum amount and a couple of days later I recieved a check in the mail.Took that with me and when the salesman saw that all I had to do was fill in the amount and sign it, he couldn't do enough to sell me a car. I was in control. I'll do the same on my new Camaro.
