Camaro Grand Am at Virgina International Raceway
Just a reminder, There will be multiple Camaro teams racing this weekend, the 13th and 14th at Virginia International Raceway, Bosch Engineering 200 and 250. There will be Camaro teams in both the Rolex Sports Car Series GT Class and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS Class.
Running in Rolex GT are: Banner Racing #7 Camaro GT.R (finished 2nd last month at Barber) Autohaus Motorsports #88 Camaro GT.R (finished 7th at Barber) Stevenson Motorsports #57 Camaro GT.R (finished 9th at Barber) Running in Continental Tire GS are: Stevenson Motorsports #9 Camaro GS.R (finished 5th at Barber) Mitchum Motorsports #6 and #62 Camaro GS.R (#6 finished 10th at Barber, #62 finished 33rd) CKS Autosport #00 and #01 Camaro GS.R (#00 finished 17th, #01 withdrew) I don't believe it will be televised but the Grand Am site will have live updates. Banner Racing is currently 7th in overall points in Rolex GT and CKS, Stevenson and Mitchum are currently 11th, 12th and 13th in Continental Tire GS. The #6 Stevenson Motorsports Sunoco Camaro finished 2nd last year at VIR in the Conti GS class with Bell and Bucknum driving. VIR is a very fast track where the Camaro’s torque and horsepower should have the advantage. Last edited by thePill; 05-11-2011 at 06:46 AM. |

Here are some pics of the GT.R and GS.R Camaro teams. I didn't separate them but just look at the cars numbers and look them up above. I think Stevenson Motorsports has a pretty decent shot in GT and GS.

Congratulations to Jack Roush and the Roush Boss 302R for their victory at Virginia International Raceway during the Bosch Engineering 200 in the Continental Tire Grand Sport class.
Congratulations to CKS Autosport and the Camaro GS for their 7th place finish at Virginia International Raceway during the Bosch Engineering 200 in the Continental Tire Grand Sport class. Turner, Fall-Line and Kinetic Motorsports BMW M3's finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th... God I hate BMW's..... There was a lot of rain and it is still interfering with the Rolex race that is happening NOW... I will have updates on the Rolex Camaro GT.R teams here soon. The Stevenson Camaro GT.R has the poll... Last edited by thePill; 05-14-2011 at 02:53 PM. |

Sweet! I enjoy watching these races, looks like its airing in about an hour on the SPEED channel but its tape delayed according to the guide. It always gets me pumped to play some gt 5 afterwards.

GT.R Camaro's are doing fantastic in Rolex Grand Touring class, 1st, 2nd and 10th. 1 hour and 30 minutes left on the clock... Looks like a Camaro win in GT class today, the Stevenson Camaro GT.R is the fastest car today at 92-93mph average each lap at a 2:07 lap time which is about .02 faster than any other car out there.

Here is the live race tracker, it updates in real time... Make sure you select the "GT" at the top of the tracker. It will eliminate the prototype cars and just track the GT class.
The easiest way to track the cars is by the number because the drivers change, here is Camaro5's Grand Am Camaro GT.R's Teams name and Car Numbers Stevenson Motorsports #57 Camaro GT.R Autohaus Motorsports #88 Camaro GT.R Banner Racing #7 Camaro GT.R http://grandam.racersites-cluster.co...=1500&VN=51979 Gotta watch that Turner BMW, they are fast... The Magnus Porsche, TGR Porsche and the pair of Speedlab RX-8's are really fast too and top runners this season. |

The Stevenson Camaro is fast today, moved into 6th on the restart...
Edit: Stevenson drops to 11th, I have no idea why... Most of the teams switched to slicks and some parts of the track may still be wet. Autohaus Camaro STILL IN 1ST THOUGH!!! |

Autohaus Camaro dropping fast, down to 11th place.... Banner up to 9th, Stevenson up 10th... Once the track dries up I expect the Camaro's to really pick up the pace...
58 minutes left to go.. New fuel cell rules initiated today, 4 gallons less than before. That may be a disadvantage for the LS3. |

Banner, Stevenson and Autohaus in 5th, 6th and 7th... Take it nice and easy, let the track dry out and they will dominate the field. 55 minutes left... The Camaro was very fast here last year with the LS3...
