Heart goes out to the family. Wonder if it was the instructor?

Some video of the scene.

How do you know the instructor wasn't the passenger at the time?

In those exotic car driving experiences, the instructor rides in the passenger seat and coaches the 'student driver'. My daughter gave her hubby a similar driving experience as a gift a couple of years ago at NJMP (he drove a Mercedes). It's got to take a special kind of person to ride in cars of that much performance potential being driven by people who may have little track driving experience, or, likely as not in many cases none at all.

Heartfelt sympathies to his family.

No, the Instructor Died!

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2...crash_dur.html

It appears to me that they were going in the incorrect direction on Track - the opening in the Guard would have been protected had they been going counter-clockwise but the skidmarks show clockwise

So sad, this is the second time I've heard of this happening in the past year. Thoughts and prayers out to the family.

They were definitely going the Wrong direction on Track! A preventable Tragady for sure.

The Disney Track was scheduled to close in two months - I see Disney cutting ties right now and I'm sure the Lawsuits will kill the Petty Experience.

I'm a long time Instructor, but I do not do any right seat coaching anymore except on an A/X course.
