Lol what he said. The car looks clean from the outside without any mods, but you are really going to appreciate your car even more with performance mods. Or you can do both in parallel depending on your cash flow.

I have a laundry list of mods I still want to do on the car. Some cosmetic (rockers, splitter etc) and some performance based (CAI, exhaust etc). Now, I am trying to do them simultaniously, a little here and a little there, but my wife asked, "If you don't intend to race, why wouldn't you do the cosmetic stuff first and make the car look the way you want before worrying about performance mods? People SEE those, no one will know about the performance mods except you?" I replied with, "The car speaks for itself visually, I am looking forward to the little extra performance, better sound in my exhaust note etc."

We went back and forth with this for a while. I still intend to do them both in tandum, but I am curious about you guys. Did or do you place more emphasis on aesthetics or performance? Hypothetically, would you prefer to have a BEAST running 9's that looked like crap (Not that any camaro could look like crap, this is hypothetical) or a showpiece that barely edges out a prius? (Again hyperbole used for effect lol)..

now, that ive read your post, cars that run 9s NEVER look like crap. They look like racecars

That, sir, is a factory wing as installed from the factory. Hence my statement, "factory custom".

I chose performance over presence because I don't want to look good in someone's rear view mirror.

I went for the looks first. First I modded the interior and now I am onto the the exterior. For me, there are TONS of camaros where i live, but not many that look modded, and so I want to make mine stand out from the 20 others that I see on any given day. But after I got my CAI, and I am eager to add some more performance mods

Agreed! I do like to look at other cars that have been done up. But to me, that money could have been spent on making the car faster. That said, I just bought a painted engine cover because it was a great price. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even considered it.
