ok so ive read this and im still missing the part that says its a good product for the V8 models, i know its very recommended for the V6 models, but what about a V8 that is not modded heavily in the performance depatrment? Sorry if i missed it somewhere in here.

Any oil ingestion into the intake air charge increases detonation so the PCM will pull timing to protect the engine from damage and thus less power and less MPG. Also, oil does not burn well at all so if it is in the combustion chamber contaminating the air/fuel mixture less power is produced per explosive event (the combustion process).

That and the carbon deposits, but the V8 still is port injection so the intake valves stay clean if a top tier fuel is used.....but the rest of the issues from oil contamination are enough to want to prevent it.

2014 and up the V8's will be DI and have the same issues the 4 cyl & V6's do today.

Good to see you finally admitting that the V8's don't need a catch-can by your statement above and as I have always stated for V8's, but you wouldn't give it up. I knew if I waited long enough you would do it for me.

Many PM'd me to just bide my time and as the Good Book says, "The truth wil set you free".

What? How the heck did you get that out of what I posted?

Freaking crazy the way you twist stuff around....and you wont quit with your personal crusade agianst a product none of us care if you dont use, but stop this already. Put your time into contributing something positive for the members here.

Here's my opinion... If CHevy put one on the 1LE you need it.

The 1LE has one from the factory?

The 1LE has a clean side one that works great, but 95% plus of the oil ingestion comes from the dirtyside and the only model Chevy includes that on is the COPO.

But the 1LE cleanside unit can be used on any LS3/L99 car along with the RX or other good can for an excellent total soultion.

Oh ok I didn't know they had a clean side even. I guess I'm new to the whole catch can issue. So might be a dumb question, but could you run a clean and a dirty side at the same time? Obviously it might be overkill.

The clean side can be taken care of with either a 1LE kit that goes where the oil fill is or with RX Breather. Dirty side would be handled by having a catch can, RX, Elite and Mike Norris are good cans. The best setup would be to have clean side and dirty side being caught. At least get a catch can for the dirty side since there is where 95+ of the bad stuff comes from.
