Rate my 1st detail. Please.
How did I do? I'm happy. All adam's products, hand polishing.
First a few notes. The Adam's soap DID dry out on the car and leave stains behind. the SHR removed them though. And no matter how much I scrubbed the car with the Wash pad, I had dirt all over the drying towel. |

I'm not sure and I'm unexperience but I think that a Stang is not the best site for Camaro5 addicts.

Seriously though, the finish looks good. Though in the first pic on the left side (where the sun is) you can see the marks on the paint. Unfortunately hand polishing can only get you so far. Need to step it up to a porter cable or flex tool to really make her shine. |

you can try as hard as you want, but you can't ever get all the ugly off a ford.

A good firm once-over with steel wool should clean up those last few imperfections.

You know, i controbute to this discudsoon group like everyone else, and i have never oncr talked trash about camaros. Its a better car, i know. But this is a threaf aboit detailing.
Anyway does anyone know why i couldnt get the car clean? Is it normal for my drying towell to be filthy? The soap left a lot of residue. |

Nice car man... You need to clay bar it but be careful with black. It can damage easy.
Wash the car thoroughly with dawn dish soap. Dont go crazy with the amount of soap. Wash with warm water making sure the car ALWAYS STAT WET. Wash it in the shade, infact make sure the paint is cool before even starting. Once you have washed it really REALLY good, dont bother drying it. Get a spray bottle and add a few drops of dawn and fill with water and shake it up. Get your clay bar. Do SMALL sections at a time (fender) and DO NOT LET THE CAR DRY. Water is your friend. Mist the soapy solution all over the fender and rub with the clay. NO PRESSURE. It will pull off all the residue. You'll know when you're done. The bar will glide. Frequently massage the bar and start with a clean spot. Just remember... COOL, WET, NO PRESSURE... let the bar glide. After you clay the fender... with a clean bucket of warm water and dawn wash the area again. NEVER LET THE CAR DRY or get warm. Once you do the whole car, wash the wheels and tires and what not. Dry the car with a non abrasive shamis or similar. I use the California water blade, then the absorber then the leaf blower. NEVER USE A TOWEL!!! once the car is dry... It will be 100% unprotected so you need to treat it. If it's already scratched up from your previous cleaning, you'll need to address that. Then wax and polish. I hear Adams is great stuff. Good luck, you're in for a FULL days work at least! Remember: COOL PAINT WET CAR NO PRESSURE NEVER DRY WITH A TOWEL! |
