What to expect from 2018s......

this is the fitments alot are coming with incase you are thinking of ordering a 2018

i went to dealer and only 1 out of the 5 camaros on the lot had perfect lines, the rest had the issues mine has.

so much for a quality car at premium price....

all issues on the passenger side, driver sides are perfect

Yes. Buying off a large lot (200+ Camaros in stock) I would apply my personal checklist.

Ordering one means waiting 6 - 8 weeks to see where the wheel of quality landed for your unit.

That being said, I did this for my C6 (but ordered it) and it came through flawless in every way.

You never know what you're going to get.

Camaro Known Product Failures

Defroster vents leaking cold air onto windshield in A/C mode, causing condensation build up on outside of windshield after some time with A/C on

Front fascia – color match to body.

Fascia fitment to hood (gap and level, flush hood to fascia)

Fascia fitment to fenders

Paint defects – Blemishes, debris, dirt, scratches, and thin coverage

Paint thin or missing in door jambs, under hood, wheels, etc

Headliner does not fit properly - gap above the passenger side window

Wind noise leaks – some outside rearview mirrors “whistle” at 40 mph or above

NPP exhaust butterflies – for rattles when running, and butterflies closed

Door rattles from speaker bass – plugs, connectors, etc. inside door rattle

Squeaks or rattles over bumpy surface

Missing trunk light

A/C recirculation door sticks, pops – recirculation door hits body opening (I think they finally corrected this)

Differential noise when cold and turning

Coolant leaks at full operating temp

Fluid leaks from engine, trans, cooler lines

Steering wheel centered

No waxing or any buffing – wash only
---------------------------------------------

To go further, print a copy of the dealer pre delivery inspection checklist and do it yourself

GM pays 1.5 hrs for PDI. It takes that long to find the unit, remove the plastic, and check all those boxes on the list.

If it isn't really obvious - out the door.

doc below

Or, buy a top-quality Camry or Optima - and feel your soul melt away mile after mile...blah

They are not expected to fix anything that's simply poor quality control in 2018, or 2019, or 2020, 2021 - omg gen 7.

They have eyes, they know what's going out the door.

Somebody looks at the poorly fitted headliners and says F it, because their manager told them to.

The manager said that because his boss told him to get them out, fast.

Asian manufacturers send back poor quality parts. Some things never change.

Tried to test drive an SS the other day. The dealer only had two in stock. The first one had the power steering fail while the car was idling in the lot. The second had a check engine light pop up and the salesman ended the test drive by having me park it in the service bay.

Quality.

Quality.
This is their crappy steering torque sensor design.

Here I thought it was getting trashed by water and road salt, etc.

Nope. Brand new one on the lot. BS!

They just keep shipping them out - aholes

Don't worry GM, it's only our F'ing steering control

But it saves .05 mpg! Times their total production - it adds up

Holy sh!t! The Camry and Optima are looking better and better...

The closest I came to an alternative that wouldn't make me sick (camry, optima, etc), when I drove it was this:

Made with top quality - Concierge service dept. - 400hp - 0-60 4.1 sec - RWD -- twin turbos cast right into the heads to eliminate turbo lag...

2018 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400

But, it doesn't make you cream your pants when you start it up....I like to...

Yeah, I wasn't impressed, and the power steering issue spans to other models, as well. My friend has a 2016 SS and he is having the same issue. His crapped out on a 600 mile drive back from Maine. Mind you, he had taken it in before and the dealer simply told him there was no fix and to restart the car if it happened again. They also refused to provide a loaner while they looked at his car.

And GM wonders why people don't think their shit is worth the price they are asking.

Lots of good info here... Thanks for the pre-delivery checklist. Just one more list I'll be going through when the new car arrives hopefully within a week.

The steering issue actually spans ALL their models and brands. Google it. omg

We have a forum member who had it crap out at 122mph in a curve. Class action is coming.

Thank you, and remember - It's not your car until the rear tires roll over the dealership's property line.

If a unit has too many problems, it's their car even if EVERYTHING is signed, dotted, charged, or the unit was ordered for you.

(reformed sales weasel giving back)

We used to cheer the customer off the property.

"Come on baby, keep going, keep going, don't even think about putting it in reverse and backing up

Front wheels...

Back wheels over the curb -

Down the road, burnin' gas.!!!"

Victory, I can eat for another day.

Every unit sold, entire sales staff.

I too went in with a game plan but when i saw the car it all went out the window, definitely take your time with it and go over everything

this was the newest discovery and now its time to send it back into the shop to fix all the things GM fkt up with and have the magyver things to a normal standard... so much for my 8 week wait and get a car... love how no hiccups on me giving them the money but im expected to "deal" with all this.... gotta be some way to fall back on a crappy product and protect buyers

the back window line is center and straight.. antenna not so much

Makes no sense how a car can leave the factory with a antenna off center.
