Be careful with this supercharger on a GM motor. Vortech makes great products theres no question about that. The stock intake is designed not to be force feed and when it is cylinder 7 like to run real lean and POW! Allot of install shops will flow test all the injectors and install the richest one where it is needed the most. Please don't take this info as negative. Vortech is a great Company I just have had better luck with Superchargers that replace the factory intake with top mount unit that feeds each cylinder with the same amount of boost. I hope they will be installing a Aftercooler on the nice car. The is why GM uses Eaton supercharger's I'm sure... like the ZR 1 and CTS-V etc...

Rest assured, your engines will be safe. We've been at this for a while now, so we know a thing or two about supercharging vehicles safely. The system will definitely be charge cooled given the stock compression ratio.

The other thing you have to keep in mind is the compressor efficiency ladder, and how different types of units stack up against one another. The efficiency ladder goes Centrifugal > Twin Screw > Roots. The twin-screw compressors are indeed extremely good, but could never match the peak efficiency of a centrifugal Vortech compressor. Vehicle manufacturers use roots-type units on OEM applications purely for price point...they are by far the cheapest of the compressors to make, but are also by far the least efficient operating. Roots are also the only unit of the three that is not a true compressor - it forces additional air into the engine, but does not compress it while doing so like the Centrifugal or Twin Screw does. The result is a sizable increase in heat, and with more heat comes less efficiency.

By the way, did anyone happen to notice that Vortech just released its first VTS Twin-Screw compressor for the LS-based Chevy trucks recently? Does this mean we will eventually offer both centrifugal and VTS for the Camaro............?

I noticed that Lysholm (?sp?) supercharger you're referrencing. Something like 3.3 or 3.8 liters, or something...

Bigger Injectors and a bigger pump are a must.... More fuel or kaboom

The Number 7 piston is at the far end of the fuel rail, More fuel should keep this from happening. I use aftermarket rails and pressure sense the end farthest from the inlet. If it drops below 55 lbs your injectors are drinking it all up.

Whoot! I luvs me some forced Induction!

Huh? There are no turbos being discussed in this thread.
