Mounting front plate without drilling bumper?

I've read a bunch of thread talking about a way to put the front plate on without cutting holes in the front. No one has a Deffinate anwser though. I purchased my car in PA and I live in NJ. NJ has to have a front plate to get it inspected. I should be getting my new plates in a week or so. Any thoughts

Don't forget about this one too. Simple, cheap, and effective.

Is there any possible grill damage that could happen with that? I think for $130-150 the motorized ones are pretty reasonable.

Just get some double sided tape and stick that bitch on the bumper for inspection, then take it off.

This is actually the option I am considering.

I originally posted the link to this solution, on whatever other thread it was on, so thanks for reposting it here.... saved me from having to find it again.

That said, here's the link to the website: http://www.eight08customs.com/licenseplatebracket.html

I've used this solution on my Scion for 3+ years, hard driving and multiple automatic car washes (it was a Scion, what'd I care... it's almost disposable), and I had no issues, no movement, no problems.

The item pictured is the one for the Scion XB... and I think it might just work as is for the Camaro... otherwise, it'd just be a question of getting some wider/larger washers to work with the Camaro's grill holes. Also, this solution allows you to put the license plate pretty much anywhere you want on the front of the car... high, low... right, left... yada, yada.

Why not just use rubber suction cups and put it inside the car on the windshield for the inspection. I've never run with the front plate. Although, I love that front plate from swift. The motorized version would really freak out the cops..

Cop: I stopped you because you don't have a front license plate...
Me: But sir, I do have a front license plate
Cop: huh... Oh, uhh....

I like the Altec electronic system, question? Will you still have to drill holes on the underside of the bumper, If I remember right the painted bumper goes back almost a foot? Anyone have ideas on how to mount this without drilling holes on any painted part?

I think CamaroPete had someone building one.

Here's the link. You may want to PM him to see if there's been any movement.

Very simple. Get some 3M double sided tape. Attach it and then when the inspection is done take it off.
