Sultan of Spark Coils

To say the least, I was VERY shocked at the numbers. Check it out!

Might be some use for sprayed or FI cars ,but I doubt there is any benefit to a NA LS3.

I for one would love to see proof . Like a dyno run with good factory coil packs and a dyno run with these on the same car no other changes .

Funny enough I remember back in the day ignition upgrades produced good results so I don't see why it wouldn't hold true today. It would be a good test though.

Are you thinking about the good ole HEI? We have evolved quite a bit from that.

Even past that point going with MSD, Aurora and other ignition intensifiers. I'll openly admit I'm an old time hot rod guy and am playing catch up but I don't see how having a hotter spark can be a bad thing. Increased cylinder pressure makes it harder for the spark to jump so adding more hydro and being able to open the gap should help. Shouldn't it? A more complete burn will increase volumemetric efficiency.

^^ Im gonna have to agree. 11:1 is getting up there for a street application. More spark energy has to be a good thing. I remember dynoing a 5.0 mustang i had a long time ago. We put an MSD 6AL vs Crane HI-6....msd made 4hp/5tq...crane made 5hp/7tq more at the wheels. Obviously our engine are technologically superior to a 5.0 but the principles havent changed and neither has science and solid facts. Id def like to see some dyno results done for LS3's. And yes it would def be a larger gain on boosted/nitrous motors. Stock i cant see any gains happening...but once cams and head start being added i see good potential.

Thanks for the advisement, went back to check it out

If somebody gave me these I would be happy to pay for some dyno time to find out on a strictly bolt on car.

I'm probably doing a cam soon so i'd be happy to put the stockers back on for a cam tune and then try slapping these on afterwards and doing a pull.

lol.
