dead horse, but need to ask again

If you had it to do all over again, would you go with the L99 auto or the manual LS3 ?
Is the 26 HP difference a difference ? I've noted comments about the skip shift and the quirky clutch release. How much of a factor are they ?
I'm thinking 1SS, LS3.

Thanks.

Actually a good question at this point... I went back and forth a lot on this one.... I still say Auto... just wish it was LS3 without AFM.

LS3 for sure.............no regrets!!

To me personally...........Auto's are boring to drive, but everyone is different.

Well the power at the rear wheels can differ at 40hp or more depending on which dyno numbers you look at. The shop where I had my LS3 dynoed put me at 368, with L99's in the 320 range. (none the same day and yes I know air conditions can produce different numbers, just the average the owner saw from the ones he dynoed) The skip shift can be defeated for less than $20 and a couple mins of "work", if it does bother you. I tend to just accelerate past it. For me the clutch has smoothed out A LOT after 500mi or so. It comes down to personal preference really, if you like driving a manual get it.

I went from an auto pansy who never drove a stick in his life to ordering a 2SS LS3 to an idiot stalling his 2010 Camaro left and right to an M6 pro.

If I can do it, so can you.

And yes, it is worth it in every way imaginable. Cheaper, more HP, funner to drive. Why get the auto?

Torque Managment is also easy to tune out... then put the A6 to the test...

Of course it's fun to drive a stick around town, but at the track with a properly tuned L99 it's a different story.
