Strength of the LSA Rods
My brother and I were talking the other day about how far I could probably get away with pushing the LSX B15 motor I'm currently running in the ZL1. I like everything about the motor but am a little concerned about the LSA rods that they chose to use. I've heard a lot of people say that they've never seen one break. Just curious as to what your opinions are on the strength of the LSA rods and maybe how far you've seen them go. Your input would be greatly appreciated...

JRE did a 650 RWHP build on my car this year. They changed the rods from 5/16" to 3/8" diameter as part of their build.

They are considerably larger around the pin as compared to the LS3 rod.
Gm tested this engine in a dyno room for 24 hrs at 15 psi boost near 1000hp and no failures. That's pretty impressive if you ask me |
