Sport/track mode

Is the sport/track mode a 1 le option only, or does it also come on the 2ss?

Thanks in advance, and yes I did a search.

The Sport/Track modes on the 1/2 SS don't change the car's damping or exhaust on the regular SS, like on the 1LE, unless the SS has the MRC and/or NPP options.

I don't believe that the regular SS comes equipped with PTM either, like the 1LE does. Arpad_m, is that correct?

In other words, it will only make the adjustments to options if those options are installed.

I think what you're getting at is:

The 1LE package includes MRC and NPP which are optional on the SS trims. In order for the driving modes to impact exhaust sounds and ride damping, those options would need to be present on the car from the factory.

I bought my 2SS with NPR with Mag ride, so yes if equipped the 1LE for Track and Sport are the same for my 2SS

Correct, no electronic diff and thus no PTM modes on the non-1LE SS.

Our 2SS Vert.... Has Track mode.
It does not have Mag ride. I does have NPP.
I can feel a difference in steering response. It is a bit less responsive actually. Which I find more comfortable driving in many conditions.
It also eliminates the popping transitioning to off throttle that is accentuated by Sport mode.
Im not driving it reel hard. Its for cruzing. But I always drive in Sport or Track.
I dont love the popping exhaust. And I feel a bit twitchey as far as steering in sport.
I dont sense any difference between Sport and Track as far as throttle response.
I think the biggest difference would be felt with Magride.
We rented 2SS verts in Florida a few times and I did feel a marginal benefit in Snow and Ice mode while driving in heavy downpours. Perhaps thats where the throttle response effect is noticeable. I did feel a bit more comfy while hydroplaning.

You should be able to manually select your exhaust mode, but if you do not, I believe the mode selector will put it in "track" if you select track. The steering gets heavier so you don't overcontrol the car at speed. Sport steering is heavier than tour/snow. I have a 2018, it doesn't pop much, but I also pulled the fuse to keep the exhaust open all the time.

At least in the 1LE, it changes the throttle mapping from regressive to linear. The sport mode is regressive, meaning the further you push the pedal, the less and less change in throttle you are getting. Therefore, the most throttle change is within the first half of the pedal stroke. This tends to be helpful for skip-shifting and other similar things driving around town, but I far prefer the linear map for sporty driving.

In regards to steering. I see some comment that it feels sharper in Sport vs Tour. Does it only change the weighting of the steering or does it actually change the steering ratio as well? I only feel it get heavier, not sharper.

I dont think it changes ratio. I believe that is still dependent on physical gear reduction. It should change only the amount of electric power steering assist. If you have mag ride, then the firmer suspension will help it feel sharper, but not change ratio.
