It didn't say that the people were SOL. It just said they were suing the wrong company.

No, you'd have to wreck, transfer all your internal organs into a new body, then rename yourself.

New GM =/= Old GM. Different companies, that's the basis of this whole thing.

That being said, it's only 400k cars. Just fix the damn thing and get it over with.

This can happen with anything you buy. The warrany is only as good as the company issuing it.

there is also so much fine small print and nothing is forceing them to uphold it. I herd horror storys of people "voiding" there warrent over stuiped things like changeing the spark plugs yourself or doing the oil change yourself . There is no law they HAVE to uphold it if the small print states you voided it

Love my Camaro but I will definatly consider ford for other vehicles. This can't happen, especially after what GM has been through. "Every one does it" excuse is weak IMO.

Does this reasoning work both ways? That is, if new GM is not responsible for the cars built by old GM, does that mean anyone with a GMAC loan on an old GM car not have to pay it back, or that the dealers got all old GM inventory they had on the lot at the time of the bankruptcy for free?

If new GM is such a separate entity from old GM that new GM is free and clear of having to honor any warranty claims or other obligations of old GM's, why would anyone who had any obligations toward old GM owe anything to new GM?

I guess any payments made to the "old GM" are null and void now too.

This is stupid, but not surprising.
