L99 Convertible 3" Exhaust

Can a three 3" diameter cat-back exhaust be installed on a 2011 2SS/RS auto without any modifications?

I'm familiar with these brands, but I believe there is a specific fitment issue with the convertibles additional bracing as there are specific item numbers for convertibles and they are only for 2.5" piping.

Stainless Works makes a kit for the convertible for the clearance issue when using 3" on a convertible.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if any 3" exhaust will work with their brace mod? Ya know, that brace looks like the stock brace with just spacers? If that's the case I could just make my own spacers.

Anyone else do their own brace mod and ran the 3" exhaust? Wouldn't want to be tied to Stainless Works only for the exhaust. Not that they are not any good, just want some options.

Kook's system for their headers is 3" all the way down and one system fits all. Been looking at it myself lately.

There are three clearance issues with the vert. 1)There is a forward tunnel brace. The stock one can be cut like the stainless works one, then add 1/4" spacers. 2) rear tunnel brace; add 1/4" spacers. 3) rear diagonal braces. Add 1/8" spacers in the center of the diagonal braces where they run through the subframe bushings, and 1/4" spacers at the very rear of the car. Most 3" exhausts have the same clearance issues in the vert. Finally, you can get the ARH brace they make, and it takes care of 1) and 2) at the same time. Then just the spacers on the rear diagonal braces.

I did 1,2,&3 on my vert. With 2 different 3" exhausts. Both had same clearance issues, Stainless works and borla. Ended up switching back to 2.5" NPP exhaust.

I have a KOOKS cat back right now. I did cut and drop the forward brace, but that's about it.

And the stainless works brace is modeled after the stock one, but is thicker to account for the cutout. I wasn't worried about it for the price they wanted, so I cut the stock one.

I think I'm going to buy this for the forward tunnel brace:
http://shop.halosupercars.com/produc...2&categoryId=7

Only $89 and looks beefy with a decent drop. I'll make spacers myself for the other two braces.
