Recall

So I took my 2SS in this morning to get its first oil change. I also am going to have them check the seats. Motor are not working. I was told that there are two possible recalls. The first one has to do with the oil pan. If it the wrong one, he said that they will have to remove the motor to add something. He said that he has only done two. All the other cars had the correct pan. I hope mine has the correct one. The second one was for the rear coils. If they are the wrong ones, they will have to replace them. I am waiting to hear if I am part of the recall.

mychevrolet.com should tell you if you have a recall before you get a letter or the dealers even know.

Hasn't this recall been in place for a while now like month or better? or is it something new that just came about?

Maybe, Maybe not. Many cars fell into the recall range, but not all had the bad pans. Easy to check. BTW, the engine does not come out...Parts below the pan are removed so it can be replaced..
If your dealer is pulling the engine to do this run away!

Also, never heard of the spring recall...I think he was referring to the rear toe links. Also easily verified as to whether or not you have the suspect parts..

Thanx that make me feel better. Also, this guy was just a service writer for the dealership.

Got the call today from my dealership. My car has all the updated parts it needs. The only thing they will have to order is something for the passenger seat. The motor is stuck and it will not roll forward nor recline.

I remember changing the oil pan on my 1976 Camaro LT. It was pretty easy and involved a floor jack, pulling the motor mount bolts, some wood, gasket/sealer, new oil pan, and about an hour of work. It's much easier if you have access to a lift.
