2010 Ford Mustang Pricing Starts at $20,995

Sorry if this is a repost, but i used the search and didn't see it anywhere.

JALOPNIK

Good move for Ford, but who wants to bet this is just for the dummed down no-options-at-all base model?

The base model comes standard with 17' wheels, keyless entry, power windows-locks,cd player........probably the same stuff the Camaro comes standard with. Ford hasn't made a stripper no-options Mustang since the '90s. If you can put up with ugly standard wheels(Camaro),neither Mustang or Camaro need any options really to make them nice cars.

They have that at autoblog and all the comments on the bottom everyone said they would rather pay the extra 2k for the camaro. They all know it's a better car for the money.

It is a better car in every which way you look at it,but that didn't help it in the '90s,once Ford starts the rebates,GM better keep up and vice versa. A 300HP car for under 19K WILL be pretty awesome,if you want the V6.
Both have to contend with the Genesis, that 4-banger might be the most bang for the buck out of the 3.

This is deceptive!!! the $20,995 does not include the $850 destination charge!! nor is it included in the $27,995 for the GT. it is actually $21,845 for the V6 and $28,845 for the V8. But they do include the destination charge for the camaro...DECEPTIVE..

Would rather pay the extra 2 or 3 grand for an LS Camaro or SE Challenger

Yeah, the SE shouldn't even exist. Not nearly enough power to move something that big.

I've never understood the point of buying a V6 pony car (I'll make exceptions for the Camaro's DI V6 and the Ecoboost). The entire point of a pony car is to get a big engine, and a V6 completely defeats the purpose.

And the Mustang's game has ALWAYS been to offer a somewhat inferior product at a lower cost. Considering how well it's worked for the last several years, I can't say I blame their strategy.

2000 bucks more for something that looks better and will outperform it in every way? Good deal.

The SE has better power to weight than the Mustang does . . . heck, my 175 hp Grand Am wouldn't be too far behind a V6 Mustang.

Why buy a V6 pony car? The V6 is about buying a cool looking sporty coupe.

That's a good price for a car that clearly underperforms when compared to the competition. The price should be cheaper.

Yeah, but you can get a decently-equipped GT for the same price as an SE.
