You may want to research, you are correct that both times MOTORTREND tried, they failed, it did hit well into the 190s which is still quite a bit quicker than the stock ZL1s top speed. On roadcourses it has generally been a split on which one comes out on top, google is YOUR friend too.

No one races one lap at a time, in a half hour stint, the ZL1 would murder the GT500. Also did you see car and drivers lightning lap (equal drivers on same day) the gt 500 barley did better than the 1le, it is not in the same league as the ZL1. On a road couse it is most definitely not a wash.

How did a video this old restart this debate? When I saw this video (last year) I was upset that I hadn't gone to Atco to run my G8 against that ZL1 because clearly that driver had no clue what they were doing.

190 is not 200. Now you shift your position to "well its still faster than a ZL1?" GTFOH with your ricer math...please.

Well if Randy Probst says its a 200 mile an hour car, Id believe him a million times over you.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NRuE38Bl5Mo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Car hit 196.6. In the Arizona heat in altitude as described by Randy.

That's damn good enough.

Thanks for posting this link, I had never seen it. Bottom line is the 500 is just an incredible machine. Is there a similar test of the ZL1?

Like I said 200 is 200. You can "build a 9 second car" (with all the bells and whistles) but if it never runs 9's is it a 9 second car? You can spit that bench racing math all over this thread but until someone hits 200 in it...its a 190+ car. It should hit 200 but has it? Anything else is ricer math...GTFO

No, no no,thank you, and have a nice day.....

lol, don't think so, even a professional race driver said it is a 200 MPH cae, so...... If it is a 190 MPH car, guess the ZL1 is a 180 MPH car.........

the gt 500 was marketed as a 200 mph car but it hasn't been able to do it. yet.

Lmao...Get off Randy's nut sack. Until someone, somewhere other than the fanboys(such as yourself) over at ford verify the claims of 202 Mph top speed. It's city. I also noticed you stop talking about it being faster than a ZL1 on the road course...You sir, are a joke of epic proportions.

What is the point of arguing it, everything I said before still stands and is not disproved. The GT500 is still quicker, faster and from all the reviews it is a tossup on a roadcourse, anything new to report?

So GT500 owners need to go out and prove it can do 200mph but the zl1 "ring" times and track times from GM are worshipped. Yet in all the real world testing I've seen the gt500 has the upper hand.

Why are we still arguing this? Seems like there are some butthurt people in here. Mod the zl1 and have fun with it.
