GM Card Points - CAPS and Limits

I tell you companies do not miss a trick.

I have had my GM card for over 10 years. I believe in my old agreement there were not limits on redemption. You bet, there is now.

Only 1500 points can be used towards a Camaro. Unreal. I am sitting on much more than that. I contacted the GM Card service center and expressed my feelings on how unfair a 10 year user (never missed a payment) is being denied this benefit. They very sharply said the limit is the limit and were nice enough to suggest buying another GM card with the other points

Yeah, let me get a new Camaro and a new Corvette while I am at it. Unreal.

Annoyed right now. It does not change my plan at all but it's really pissing me off.

There are different cards with different terms.

Do you have a copy of your old agreement? If you do, there might be something you could do legally?

I really don't know. I mean this card is over 10 years old, you know? I don't have the old paper work around. I will see what I can do on the Capital One side of things.

You probably were switched years ago. They tried to do it to me but I declined it and made sure they put me back on the old version (5% vs 1% and capped earnings/payouts)

I used GM card first time on '93 Z28. Now we have bought three Camaros, a Silverado, a Tahoe and a Yukon. Many of our bills are on auto-pay tied to the card. I have $3500+ ready now for 1LE on order.
If I wasn't a GM guy or they changed our deal, I would probably apply for a cash-back-on-gas card.

My GM Business Card has no limits on accumilation, expiration and how much can be used per purchase. But I only get 5% on GM part purchases, 3% on gas, restaurants, office supplies, 1% on others. Earnings really do add up when used for business.
