The 2nd one isn't eye candy, it's scary.
Someone I my local club has an auto with the tune. Really likes it. Apparently 0 people on the planet have the LFX tuned on a manual. I don't know why....but hopefully someone will and report back about it. Apparently a lot of the tune has to do with the transmission shifting patterns and such. I guess that is why many people don't have the manual tuned, but bring up a questions about those with the 8 and a manual and if they have gotten the tune. |

I was under the impression the tune had much more to do with the torque converter and things like idle than anything all that performance related with engine mapping and what not. I'd be interested in a 91 octane tune if they had one and it gave a few extra ponies but from what I've read about the tune is really something more for auto guys

LFX tunes are good for about 15 to maybe 20 HP.
Matt with FSP tunes them. Does a hell of a job and usually gets about that. The real benefit is the torque gain in the lower rpms.

On the automatic the tune frees up some low end torque management that may not be there, so the low end gain may not be quite as much, but in the mid and top ranges you should see just as much if not a tad more of a gain since you have less drivetrain loss.

My '13 LFX is Trifecta tuned. Not really super impressed even after the 3rd update. Im gonna give it another shot at the track after I send them a few more data logs. If your done modding I would go with a dyno tune. I went trifecta since bolt on updates are free and I am far from done.

I IPF tuned my '12 M6 before I ditched all the bolt-ons for an IPF S/C. It made a difference but I didn't measure it with anything but the ol' seat o' pants dyno.
I had zero issues with the tune. John B.

Looking into eather a full dyno tune, on v6 lfx m6 mods are slp blackwing cai, slp loud mouth 2. What would your ideas be on tunes get one out of the box off the shelf tuner, (trifecta, other brand) or go with a dyno tune?
