Bought with Cosmetic issue

I bought my 2015 Camaro in October and I did not notice at the time of purchase that the dealer ship had buffered a mark on the passenger side rear quarter panel. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to get them to fix it or am I just sol because I did not notice when I bought the car?

That is point.....you may be SOL. HOWEVER, if you have a positive buying experience at your dealership......here is what I would do. Go in and make an appointment with the owner of the dealership. Do this in a calm and cool way.....Explain to him/her the situation and see how they respond.....if its just a buffed spot, not a dent, this could be easily corrected with a standard paint correction, and they have people that could do that. They very well may just look at your car and have it corrected.....if they tell you that they are not responsible. Tell them thank you and go have it corrected on your own. WHAT COULD YOU LOSE? NOTHING..... you may find your dealership will jump at the chance to build a relationship with a valued customer. So go for it.

You should consider that an attempt to correct this minor blemish could make it worse. I too noticed a minor ding on the quarter panel of my car and decided to leave it alone. Just my 2 cents.

Doesn't hurt to ask the dealer to fix it.

Have someone who knows how to buff get that out. Nothing makes me cringe more than someone working a buffer on a car with no clue how to correctly do it. Paint damage is almost always inevitable.

I was so blinded when I found my beauty that I had signed all the papers and spent a couple days with her before noticing that the driver side fender and door were off a shade. They match the front fascia but not the hood and body, or the door handle. The worst part is, I bought it from my own work and I didn't find out it had a minor fender bender in the lot (happens a lot at our dealership) until I noticed the color difference and looked into it. The body shop manager flat at told me, "You shouldn't have bought it. We're not repainting the car." If I had noticed before I signed the papers, I may not have bought it, or may have had them agree to fix it first. Asking around at better body shops though, I've been told that yellow is one of the worst colors to try to match and that it would be hard to get right and I would be better off having the whole side done in one shot. I'll just have to live with it. It's not as noticeable in the day light, but in the morning and evening it's more pronounced.

Forgot to mention, I bought mine used so, not as big a deal as if I bought brand new.

Been there, and done that.. You need to be very calm BUT in a demanding way. Calm and pushover wont get it done. I actually had a entire hood replaced because of a dealers negligence, and after the fact it can be done!

You could try a micro polish to remove the swirls yourself...like one from nufinish or 3m..... it has just enough abrasive to not hurt things badly which is basically what a buffed out car should do...make the scratch look better and blend in by with the slightest abrasive sand it....as its clear coat over base coat your dealing with......

Seriously...
My girl had tons of spots where they buffed the adhesive from the shipping film. My reaction was to get her home, fix the issues and get her accustomed to her new life of luxury.
my 2¢

Personally I'd feel dumb going back to the dealer after 6 months and trying to act like that was there the whole time. It's right by the gas door, how would you not notice that?

It's no big deal. Find a good auto detailer, slip him a 20 and he will solve that problem while you wait.
