It does not take a month to complete a "QC Inspection" on a car. This must then mean a part on the car needs to be removed and replaced or may still need to be installed. I am sure the cars are getting pulled from the parking lot, the part is getting replaced or installed and then the car is released. This is why it seems so random as to which cars are currently still bayed and which cars are being released and shipped. I don't understand why GM will not just be upfront with its customer's and explain this to them.

If GM won't tell you the reason why your car has been sitting at the plant for a month, there must be a good reason for it, which probably doesn't make a person feel great about their $60k investment. I believe honesty is the best approach here, tell the customer exactly what the quality issue is, then tell the customer what the company is doing about it. I think if GM tried this approach they would find customer's would be more understanding and willing to wait weeks for their car's to arrive, instead of being kept in the dark and just hoping each day of each week that their car might ship and then wondering why it has not.

I have thought about it all night since the lady called yesterday about my car and I believe I will call the dealer today and see if we can work out something about my car. If I do decide to wait on it you can bet your ass that when that car gets here I will go over and over that car to see if everything is ok. If I can find something close to what I ordered I will go and get it. I will keep you posted.

I would never be able to order a car. I just have no patience...I couldn't imagine having to wait and extra 2 months for no clear reason. If I were you, I would've been looking for a replacement after about a week of qc hold. You should make the dealer. Sorry to hear all of this...

My car also was to be shipped but it is still bayed since 4/12. Just wish we knew what was going on but all of the request falls on GM and they are not saying anything except it is held for quality inspection. How long does that take? Someone posted in this thread that he was told the cars would not be shipped till June. I did not want to believe that but now I am starting to think he is right. I just hope it is not the end of June! |
