Can't Brendan, its against federal law to sale/release an unsold vehicle thats under recall until the recall is performed, this goes for both brand-new and used vehicles.

Good luck with that. It's not the dealer's responsibility to trailer your car unless you paid them to do so. Even then, to protect themselves, they aren't going to move the car anywhere off premises.

6'7" here and can't switch it off no matter how hard I try! Given how most of us don't want our cars touched on this issue, I have to assume there's no way for a dealer to change these parts without our approval? This is not a federally mandated recall, it's voluntary -- and an overreaction to the other ignition recall at that. I've ignored other recall notices in the past, so I can't imagine there's a problem ignoring this one...

For those who like their switchblade keys, the latest I heard:

The fix is a "knee guard," but same keys.

My best guess on the above design is molded, hard plastic, sort of scalloped "wing" extension that blocks/prevents the knee from hitting the key fob and causing the problem. The molded wing could be made as an integral part of the plastic steering column cover assembly.

Presumably, this is a simpler fix, effective fix, and faster fix than making new keys and key fob replacements. For those of you that already have Camaros (my Z/28 stuck at dealer) you would be able to imagine this fix on your cars better than I.

That's what I'm wondering as well, if I do take in my car for something unrelated, I want to ensure that they don't apply this recall to my car. But nothing in the stop sales thread has enlightened me on whether or not it would be forced should they ever get their hands on my car again.

Don't know, I won't be back in the states for a few more weeks at which point I plan to call and ask.
