ZL1 faster than the Z06? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

GM ring vids show both the ZL1 and Z06 running from 120-170mph. However the ZL1 gets to 170mph about a sec faster than the Z06. Normal logic says the Z06 should be faster and that no way would GM allow a non-sports car vehicle be faster than their fast Corvette.

Is the ZL1 really faster at high speeds than the Z06?

So how did the ring ZL1 beat the ring Z06 to 170mph? 120-170 in 30 vs 31 sec if you time it from the vids?

Idk about those speeds, but from a stop its not even close. Supposedly from a stop its not even faster than a base vette from what I read.

If I get mine anytime sone I will let you know ha ha. I have friends that own gt500, Z06, Base c6, c5 Z06.

I have owned 08 Z51 and 07 Z06.

everthing I have seen it should equal a base c6 pretty much and handle better. I should have road holding equivelent to a non mag ride Z06 like mine. everybody goes to the C6 fast list as it has been out longer and there is more data. not everbody roll to the drag strip in an LS3 vet and bangs out 11's. I didn't in mine. low 12's on my invo's was all I got.

It will not move out 120-170 as good though. Z06 is a monster. the all mighy 2013 ft500 got a 2009 Z06 by 1/2 car 70-170.

race track is not 1/4 mile somone time syou roll into the throttle differnt etc. maybe he came out of corner in a different gear in one car to the other in the video. there is a point where maybe 170 is about as fast as a driver may be comfortalbe going before coming up on a braking zone. the last strech in the video is not even flat ground. the ZL1's brakes are a little better than my generation Z06 brakes. I can tell you in a dead stop run 4th spins over 160mph in my Z06 and gets there fast I don't think a stock ZL1 will match that. you will have to hit 5th to get to those speeds.

The ZL1 is the fastest production automobile to ever be built by any manufacturer... ever....and in the future.

I heard that Ferrari was revamping their F1 design to incorporate some ZL1 design features after the ZL1 lapped an Enzo during testing at Monza .

And I heard and you can goggle this....aliens have been spotted outside the GM production center trying to abscond with some ZL1 powerplants for for intergalactic space travel.

Ferrari is not even looking at the Z06 and neither are the aliens so the ZL1 has to be better, right?

Truth is that I did intercept some discussions on a Italian Ferrari fanboy forum which talked exactly about this, and I was like wtf, this has to be a really badass car for Ferrari to copy it's design.

. If the ZL-1 isn't as fast as a base Vette then that car is a waste. Maybe to 185 mph because of aerodynamics. But honestly stock C6s aren't that fast.
