New to Cameros
Hey guys
So I'm looking at getting a 2013 ZL1 with the auto trans after I drove my dads 2018 Zl1 and fell in love with it. What are the pros and cons for the 5th gen zl1s? Any type of recalls or issues with them? Any insight would be awesome. I'm coming from an import owner over to the American muscle now. Thank you guys in advance! Grootzl1 |

Second the 5th gen camaro are pretty tough but some cars are ragged out. Those should be fairly easy to filter by looking in person. They respond well to mods, have a great look, and have deprecated most of the loss out already so the value should be more stable than most cars. Find a good clean car, take care of it and it should last a long time.

Is there anything specific I should be looking at for problems? I've been searching around at the 13's and around 20-30k miles. Thanks for the help |

Thanks. I'm looking to get a bone stock zl1. I don't like purchasing already modded cars. I prefer to do that myself. Always have always will. That's fine with me if it is covered under warranty. I'm perfectly fine with that. And so my search begins! Thank you guys so much. Big props! |

Well since no one mentioned any issues besides the supercharger rattle there are more.
1. Supercharger rattle (already mentioned) 2. Rear end noise (acceleration, deceleration and turning) 3. Rear mag ride shocks tend to go out early. 4. Brake fluid/clutch fluid reservoir leaks from under the cap over time ( M6 for sure, not sure about A6)

You should be able to find good examples in the market. Try to find a low mileage, one owner example.
ZL1s are great all around driving cars. You should be very satisfied with your choice.

Pro: The 5th Gen is built like a tank
Con: You can feel the tank weight while driving, compared to the 6th Gen.

I've found a few 13's that I like and they're at chevy dealerships. 20-30k miles and they are about 38k. But I'm sure I can talk them down to about 34. Now is all that stuff that Jaymoo7 mentioned under warranty? Or is it something that I would need to fix out of pocket?
Thank you guys |

The only thing under warranty would be the powertrain. Comes with a 5 year 100K mile warranty.
If this is going to be your daily driver, beware the stock tires suck in the rain, and don't do well in the cold.(which you don't have to worry about since you are in FL) Good luck |
