Caddy V12 to possibly be built

http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Ar...rticleID=37286

A number of interesting points:

It could be built on the Zeta platform
It will slot above the DTS

:eek:Wow...Zeta....Auto-tranny....560hp....DI....AFM..................brai n hurts. *twitching*

THIS is gonna be freaking AWESOME!!!
It's kind of funny. A few years back, when GM built this Caddy 16 concept, it was designed to be purely that, a concept. Lutz even blogged that it would be impractical, and foolish to push out a V16 with 1000 hp this day in age, and expect it to sell. even though it still magaged something like 24pmg...think abou that: 24mpg - in a 1000hp V16

Anyways, I'm glad GM is doing this. Sure, it may not be totally practical right now, but I think it will sell quite well among the Euro-folks with money.

Plus, like Stovt001 pointed out - Zeta. That's just one more vehicle to spread costs out over. And if they're putting the soon-to-be flagship Cadillac on this chassis, what does that tell you about the quality of this platform?

Limited # built w/ a high MSRP and low cost to build, but have them be super luxurious where only the increadibly well to do crowd can afford one....sux for us but at least we get to see them on the road.

I'll believe it when I see it. If my Grandpa were still around he'd be heading to the dealer right now to put his name on the list.

I'm pretty sure it is the Sixteen...except, no V16. I still can't get over saying no...it'd be stupid to build it - and then - vuala!

About 48 seconds in:

And what Cpt. Slow thinks of the Sixteen:

I'm glad that caddy is making a really high end vehicle. though it would be nice to see the sixteen on the roads, this won't be too bad either. Perhaps this will revive the saying of 'wow, thats like the Cadilac of ______'

I'm glad GM is going to play with those super cars in Europe. It's good to see some quality US representation in the high horsepower.

I always thought Bob Lutz wanted the top end Caddy to be a coupe. I pulled these off the internet ages ago. Allegedly, they were an official Caddy design proposal.
