But honestly Al, the SS should have that 427. The Z28 has always been the cheaper sub model to the SS

No complaints here. Z/28 is sweeet.
But to add... pure track car. It's not for everyone. No A/C, no radio, no HID, no HuD, no comfy stuff, etc... Last edited by Forty5th; 03-27-2013 at 09:25 PM. |

It's an option, at least, even if it's the only one...
"Called the "defining point of the gen five Camaro" by Reuss, the long-rumored Z/28 pack's the out-going Corvette Z06's LS7 V-8 under its hood, making 500 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Realizing that power isn't necessarily the Camaro's Achilles heel, the bowtie boys cut a ton of weight out of the car by removing the car's sound deadening, ditching the trunk carpet, using thinner rear glass, and making air conditioning option. Chevy also ripped out all of the car's speakers, save for one, which they had to keep in order for the seatbelt chime to be heard." I read the article you put up about the Z28, Al it seems like there are a lot less options all for the whopping weight reduction of "100lbs". That LS7 must be alot heavier than the LS3. If I would buy this car I'd probably get the A/C option. It would be more cost effective to get the new Vette for that price, or ZL1. No sound deadner or carpet, that Z/28 must roar at those high RPMs. Still a very unique car, and I love the new look.

if it ends up being 60k why not just get a vette then which is still lighter and as all the goodies the more i think about the pricing and the stuff its missing ..i like to drive my cars ..

A/C is the lone single available option on the Z according to Chevy. So for a V8 DD, the SS/1LE/ZL1 would be better choices due to the creature comforts & amenities. Of course, personally I still like the C7
