Yes break in according to the owners manual is 1500 miles. Still 1000 miles to go OP. Better start driving it more!

I drove mine 500 miles just to bring it home. 9 months later, and it's already got over 10k.

Break in? Ha Drive the crap out of it! You bought it to drive it. The warranty is in effect no matter how you drive a stock car. These cars are built to be abused and used. Enjoy what you have!! You should go out be red lining every gear the moment it leaves the lot. If its gonna break don't you want it to be under a warranty? If you baby now whats gonna happen when you get in a race or drive it hard??

1500 miles?!? Damm i aint ever going to have fun! LOL how many of you changed your fluids at 500? Its old school and it isnt very expensive so why not right? Manual doesn't say anything about it though so i dont know if it's necessary.

I changed my engine oil at 500 miles. Then I changed the transmission and rear axle fluids at 1500 miles.

That's ok OP, I'll pick up your driving slack, 16,646 miles since 4/16/14. My car didn't come alive till around 3K miles! Winter is coming for you...

Depends if you flip cars or if your intention is to keep them. Things are probably not going to go wrong during warranty, that is why they give it to you. Long term though? As a former engine builder, I'll always stick to a proper break in and then keep the car as long as I fancy. LOL
