It's weird, this all brought me back to my childhood. Being an astronaut was my biggest dream when I was little. Even after watching the Challenger disaster live on tv at school. Guess some dreams never die.
My time at space camp had nearly disappeared from memory. And this has helped bring it all back. Amazing era of US space exploration is over and with no concrete plans for the future, what will today's kids dream of? Who will be their space Heros? Bummed but also very glad for the renewed memories. Thanks Jordy!!

And to add a sweet story in, Mark Kelly, the final commander of Endeavour on STS-134, and his wife Gabby watched Endeavour make a special flyover over Tucson, Arizona. Gabby was the congresswoman injured in the AZ shooting. This flyover was scheduled a couple days before specially for Gabby and Mark. I'll post the picture when I can get on a computer.

Ok, lets try again...
These are in reverse order. What ever! I dont think I could repeat the crane shots if I tried. These were all taken at maximum zoom, so the quality really suffered. It was hard to track from that distance also. I was a good 3-4 miles away, plus whatever altitude. The stupid haze/smog didnt help either. But still was extremely cool to see! The nice sky was from earlier in the morning, to the south (opposite direction). Was a beautiful morning to be on the roof, shuttle watching!

Nice photos Jason, especially the one with it right inbetween the cranes! Mine are.....unfortunately....about the same quality. Not sure what it looked like where you were at, but they had a ton of people at NASA Ames, which was a sight to see.
There were tons of people lining the fences of NASA and on the roofs of every office building. There are 2 buildings being constructed right next to ours, and EVERY construction worker was on the roof; it was truely a sight to see. Everybody was just cheering when it flew by. It's definitely sad moment to see its last flight..... I take no credit for this photo, but this is just a EPIC pic of Endeavour.

Thanks jordy. Just glad I got to see! Wish I had gone to my parents house. They live just north of Moffett (couple of blocks). My mom said they went right over the house, crazy crazy low in altitude.
Was kind cool, after high school I could hear them fire up the wind tunnel at Moffett. And I used to delivery stuff to the base there also. Small world.
