Camaro Vs Camaro

We thought we'd venture out of the suspension section and share some track numbers.

These are the analyzed results of our recent track testing:

3/4/2010 Hotchkis Track Day Test
Stock 2010 Camaro vs. Hotchkis 2010 Camaro

Hotchkis 2010 Camaro
- 2010 Camaro SS
- OE Pirelli Tires
- 22109 Adjustable Sport Sway Bars
- 25109 Adjustable End Links

Streets of Willow:

11)- Quicker transitions allow Hotchkis to carry 4 mph more entry speed
12)- Controllable throttle steering allows Hotchkis to exit 2 mph faster, engaging the straight-away earlier

Skid Pad:
Stock - 0.85g
Hotchkis - 0.88g
Hotchkis w/ Competition Bar - 0.91g

600’ Slalom:
Stock – 67.1 mph
Hothckis – 68.9 mph
Hotchkis w/ Competition Bar – 69.2 mph

Driving Impressions:

In stock form, the 2010 Camaro is an understeering monster. Every turn demands so much from the front tires you can hear them scream. Pitch and Roll Transitions are slow, which make a heavy car feel even heavier.

With the Hotchkis kit installed, the car is more balanced showing steady-state neutral steer with the ability to rotate the vehicle with control. With the added spring rate from the coils & sway bars, along with the chassis stiffening braces, transitions are quicker allowing the vehicle to turn, stop and accelerate faster. The car begins to feel lighter than it really is. Reduced roll angle allows the vehicle to change direction quicker and increases overall grip by using the tires more efficiently.
