ZR1 (Vette) vs 700HP Camaro

This is a HYPOTHETICAL question..

A completely bone stock ZR1 vs 700 RWHP Camaro SS.

What will the out come be. I suspect the ZR1 is the winner here but if thats the case, how bad did the Camaro get whooped in this hypothetical simulated race

Sidenote, 3 houses down... household just got home in their brand new ZR1.

I say is depends on the suspension in the camaro, if the camaro has suspension mods to put down the power... and how the camaro makes the 700hp. A supercharged 700hp camaro will have alot of torque to overcome the wieght, and with good tires and suspension I would say it would be close. A hooked up camaro with that power should run 10s easy, a stock ZR1 can run high 10s with a good driver.

+1

With the same driver and just doing it by times I'd expect the ZR1 by about .1-.5 sec faster.

Well there is about 150whp difference and certainly not 1500 lbs difference. On a track with good tires I say camaro from a roll I still say camaro.

hmmmmmmm comparison time 3300 lbs 628 hp 605 tq and all the other goodies....if supercharged the camaro weighs about 4300 and about 850 at the crank dont know the torque...first off good luck getting traction you wont be putting the peddle to the floor i can tell u that ohhhh yeah 6800 redline and 6400 redline not much diff but the zr1 has the torque tube that they use in all corvettes which puts the power down better....yeah zr1 winner

Why would the camaro weigh 4300 lbs? There was a 2ss at the track weighing 3840 without the guy so what would a supercharger add? 150lbs or so max. And the zr1 only puts down about 550whp, we know that from multiple tests, so against even a 4000lb 700whp camaro the camaro has the better power to weight ratio. With a good drag radial so it can hook and the camaro should win. The zr1 is a bad ass car but not unbeatable, even a fat ass camaro with enough power can get it done, people need to realize that.

Yea I really dont know how bad the camaros tranny's are. But it looks like the vette is 3350 so about that 35-3550lbs range with a driver. I guess the op should just run em lol. Thats the best way to answer questions.

if the horsepower is the only mod, then zr1. but it really depends on wether the camaro has upgraded suspension or transmission, etc on it. it cud be close with the right mods. otherwise, zr1 wud destroy it. its called the "Blue Devil" for a reason!

Like I said before, if the camaro is setup for the power, it will be a good race. LOOK at the FACTS ZR1s can run high 10s stock... a 700hp camaro with supporting suspension and tires will run 10s EASY. So how would the ZR1 kill it....it wont, there are plenty of camaros run faster then high 10s in street trim and those cars are putting out the 700hp the OP stated

ok how about this the drag coff is better on the zr1 and 1/4 doesnt count for anything really except braggin rights times are how fast u get off the line u can have a 11.5 but only at 117 not to impressive so you can hook but your acceration is crap the zr1 accerates to 128 in 11.2 according mags hmmmm whats that in the half mile then mile and so on....susupension the camaro is must but after that 1/4 its a no contest if they gave a trap speed with this camaro it could easily be called
