2013 Camaro guys, does your paint have this?

Just wondering if anybody else has these imperfections in their paint. This is under the clear coat.I took it to the dealer, and they will have it repainted, but i don't want that,as no way the factory paint job can be duplicated. You can only see this in certain conditions, and the pic actually looks worse then it really is,it kinda looks like a suction cup from the factory. My 2011 1LT RS didn't have any of these, but my 2013 has 3 or 4.

Looks like rotary buffer marks, but if its under the clear its probably not. A good body shop should be able to repaint better than the factory can, which isn't to hard in your particular case because the factory job doesn't look to good.

Honestly I wouldn't want them to repaint it. That will remove all the value from the car

If you don't want the dealer to fix it, what is it you want them to do?

what was your method? If those were a clear coat scratch/marring it would take pretty heavy compounding to remove. Not saying it is, just making sure so you avoid getting another paint job having to be done if it can be fixed.

I dont want them to do anything since it wont come out.I was just wondering if anyone else had this in their paint, and if anyone knew what exactly it was.

Yeah, i tried buffing it out,and had no luck.Thats when i realized it was under the clear coat. I just used wax,and elbow grease.

I have noticed some similar marks/imperfections that seem to be under my clearcoat as well. I was considering having my dealer look at it. I guess I'm not sure why it would devalue the car to have it repainted under warranty if they can just take a few of the parts off to reshoot them to correct the issue. I could see it if the entire car needed to be repainted but a bumper, fender or hood doesn't seem like it would be a big deal. Especially when the reason for the repainting is given to any potential buyer down the road.

My car is also VR. I wonder if it's something more commonly seen in VR compared to other colors or maybe the defects are easier to see on VR for some reason.

Wait, why would you not want them to repaint it? Why would you want that factory paint job replicated?

Are you sure that isn't in the clear coat?

I have a 2013 Black Camaro and I had the same issue. It could only be seen in certain light and angles. I couldn't get them out myself. I took it back and they fixed it with no repaint.

I had a circle mark similar to the pic, on mine it was at the top of the bumper in front of the hood opening.
I figured it was a buffing wheel mark so used my porter cable and polish and it cleaned up completely.

Wax will just cover it with a clear layer of wax. Needs a polishing compound to break the surface of the clear coat to remove that, but not so much to go through the clear.
