can one switch covertible tops between 2010-2014

I have a black 2011 Convertible 2ss that has the Beige top that I bought used 2 yrs ago. Since i think the top is a first design top it shows rub signs and especially in two spots since I did not know you needed to use the Tonneau cover to prevent some of the rub spots.
Anyway I was wanting to switch the top out from the beige to the black top and was needing to know can this be done if one switches out the whole assembly? I can get a assembly from a SS ZL1 convertible but not sure what year. Is this something that can be done a straight switch out of whole assembly. I also have the fabric liner thats black.
Anything I need to know would be greatly appreciated.

No convertible in 2010, the 2011 was the first year for the convertible and the top design changed mid year 2012. Many people with the old design have had the new design installed under warranty, myself included, so yes it can be done. Just make sure it is from a camaro built after April 2012 and you should be good.
