Built TO Order
Hello Camaro5 Friends!
Im not new to the forum, but I am a new member, and am ordering my Camaro within the next 2 weeks hopefully. I was wondering, anyone have some tips on what to get, or to consider? So far me and my dealer have decided 2LT with beighe leather, imperial blue metallic w/ white racing strips. I am also getting numbers on a SS one, I'm just trying to keep payments around $450 as I am graduating high school going into college!! I am getting a 3500 to a 4500 discount from GM&U for entering college, so that will help. I would be glad to hear from anyone on what I should consider getting, and maybe what some people are paying a month for their SS. Thanks a lot!!! |

If you do not plan on putting down any more than what the discount is going to give you than $450 sounds about right for a monthly payment with the options you gave. Why not just go to the "Build Your Car" on Chevy's webpage and map out a price yourself. Just subtract the discount from the MSRP. You can google "car payment estimator" and find plenty of webpages that you can estimate your price. Don't let the dealer have a say in what you're going to get, you have to have all the say!

Yes, go with the RS at the very least. I pay $617.00 month plus $72.00 a month for insurance for my 2SS/RS, that was with 10,000.00 down and excellent credit. I think you should stick to the 2LT since you are just starting out in the world with college and all, you don't want to over extend your finances.

Just something to think about.... everyone is saying to get the RS package. I did, so I can't say anything bad, but....
if you put a lot of miles on the car, figure a couple grand a year for tires and maybe even figure another set of wheels/tires if you want to drive it during the winter. The RS package comes with summer tires that don't have a long tread life. They don't last long and don't go in the snow. |

We dont get much snow here, when we do its only about 1 inch so the tires im not worried about, and Ill have for warning on when to get tires, as everyone should because everyone knows tires wear out sooner or later. We get sams tires because they rotate and balance free, sooo...But I will be getting RS package, and cant decide if I want Yellow or Imperial BLue metallic now, or victory red. My G5 is victory red, and I LOVE it. Im getting V6 to keep payments down, test drove it two days ago, and its quick! Ill just add stuff like air intake and more that wont void warranty to up HP as much as possible. Thanks for everyones input.
