Gas Shortage...where to...?
Hey there!
With the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, every single gas station in NJ is out of gas and/or jam-packed with people refueling their cars and gas canesters AFTER the storm. It's ridiculous. I'm at a 1/2 tank right now, which is more than enough to get me from point A to B. However, I was wondering if anyone who lives in NJ knows of a gas station that has gas in/around Bergen County? What about upstate NY (up rt. 17 somewhere) that's close to the border? Thank you |

I was told every station gets one tanker per day. The secret is to get to a station very early in the morning to be able to get gas.

Friend of mine posted this on facebook, it's a list of all known stations in NJ that still have gas. Hope it helps: http://mobile.nj.com/advnj/pm_31079/...tguid=2rA2bwAc

Can't help you with bergen county, but every gas station in elizabeth had lines down the road. The turnpike also had lines for miles at every rest stop. The only place near me with gas is the Wawa by six flags, and they also had lines well past the Jackson outlets.

Keeping you guys in our thoughts - I think a lot of people under estimated how hard it would affect everyone.

Hell, I'm all the way up in north western Jersey basically on the PA border and all the stations where out of gas yesterday and had long lines down the road the day before. It's crazy out there. I went way out into PA and got gas and no lines at all... As of last night, all our gas stations where coned off and closed down out of gas....

Don't bother trying Manhattan - what few stations we have here are out of gas. Just keeping my car parked until this disaster gets sorted out.

I would go to PA, but I got maybe 95 miles cruising range on it, so if I run out, forget it lol. I need gas for Monday's commute to school :/
I really hope everyone is ok. Where I am, a lot of people lucked out damage-wise. Along the shore-line, no so much. |

Rationing goes into effect today odd/even based on date and license plate.
Best advice is if you don't have to drive....DON'T.
