Unless this guy is completely full of shit and has a lot more done to the car that he says, he'll lose, and by a lot too.
A non-1LE SS will spank that ass with no problem. When I went to the track when my 2012 2SS/RS LS3 was stock, I lined up with a guy who had a 2010 6-speed SRT-8 Challenger with the 6.1L. I beat him by 3+ car lengths by the end of the quarter. I ran a 13.1 @ 109 and he ran a 13.5 @ 106. This year one of my best friends bought a 2013 392 6-speed manual SRT-8 challenger and he wanted to see how it stacks up to my SS. He had an 06 SRT-8 charger that he traded in for the chally before and his charger could never ever come around the SS, even when the SS was 100% stock. Now that i have an intake, muffler deletes and the Diablosport, when me and the 392 launch im ahead of him by a full car length right off the line and I stay there until i hit 4th gear and then i really start to stretch his ass hole open. And before anyone tries to say im full of shit, ive got video proof. And i'd also like to point out, the 6-speed manual challengers are significantly slower then the auto's. I'm not sure why? The 6-speed srt-8 392 comes stock with 3.95 rear gears and has the same tr6060 tranny as we do. And he might not be as good of a driver as me, but he can definitely bang a gear and didnt miss a single shift. With that said, those R/T's are a friggin joke. ~370hp and 4200lbs.. gimmie a break.

Maybe a highly modified V6 Mustang. But stock to stock a V6 Mustang won't (or at least shouldn't) beat an R/T...unless the R/T driver was a worse driver than I am...and I'm a pretty bad driver, lol!!

It's funny you look on youtube and all you see is R/T's beating SS's left and right. Not what I've experienced personally, the few that I've come across (you know on a private track lol) I've completely smashed them

Rt's are really slow man! They are closer to v6 camaro territory sad to say! The best run I have seen out of one was high 13s with most running 14s. Even the 6.1s were no match when I was bone stock. You have nothing to worry about!

I'll attest to that, i have a friend who bought a challenger i love the look and i never thought plum purple would look good but those cars pull it off aside from looks and weight though the v8's are basically a V6 Camaro in every race.

I ran a '12 Challenger R/T classic (friends car) and I spun all of 1st (damp road and cold tires) and he never edged me. Once in 2nd it was a steady pull from there.
I played with a '10 SRT8 challenger just cruising around town. Guy driving had some exhaust work done. Out of nowhere he took off (we were around 40mph). I closed the gap before he let off around 80. We were not racing, we were just driving........ "spirited" Should be an easy win.

Slower cars can beat a horrible driver.....I have owned more than one 6.1 and have run 12.7 to 13. With a tune, cai and exhaust on average dependin on da....6.1 is a drivers race with equal drivers, nothing more, nothing less....

All being equal the ls3 m6 has an advantage in top end over the 6.1. I have never had a 6.1 pull me after I got by, and I have raced allot of them! All being equal the 5.0 has an advantage over the SS, that just the way it is, I admit it. You should too lol

Where are you getting the information that the Coyote has an advantage over the SS? And I mean official information. Not some kid who claims his car is stock and makes a Youtube video.

The mustang is ~250 lbs lighter. All the compiled 1/4 mile times and trap speeds over the past few years from both magazines and private owners. The mustang is a couple ticks faster stock for stock and mod for mod. |
