If water gets in you have a bigger problem,( can you say submarine ) It sits at the top of the radiator, I have driven in 12" of water with my car and in rain and have not had water problem

Pretty sure he wasn't talking about driving through a pond. I like using a snorkle for that. More along the lines of driving down the hiway in a downpour. Wouldn't it be like having a vacuum hose facing forward in the grille?

Yes, I do believe this would be an easier way to install. I actually thought of that when I got done. It would be worth a try to see if it works.
I tried this on Friday...operative word being 'tried'...does not work....

Good to know. But this likely means the filter can't be removed wthout pulling the duct out of the coupler. Still not a big deal though.

LOL! Yeah, probably I would need AWD too!

The airfilter is probably enough to stop the incoming raindrops!?

I've driven my Car through the heaviest rain possible (4 inches per hour type rain storms). I get off work just about the same time as the afternoon thunderstorms in South Florida (during the rainy season). I haven't had any issues.

But you'll need to take your air filter out every once in a while and get the bugs out. I gotten lots of bugs and some dirt sand in the filter box. So I like to clean out the filter box every few months.

By the way I lost track of which side of the filter faced which direction. There didn't appear to be any airflow arrows. Hmm just occured to me, it was probably only oiled on one side. Time to go check it.

I hope you love yours as much as I do mine. My car runs strong and smooth.
I am so glad I was not hasty and bought something else. I was holding out to see the GM offering, but after it was not at SEMA, I had had enough of that crap. Just so happens Vararam gets theirs working great at the same time. I am so glad I waited. I could not be happier.
