They will both be 11 second car's but the 2011 still has the advantage due to its SRA, auto trans option, 7,500-8,000 redline and ability to cut 1.5-1.6 60ft's with nothing more then a tune and DR's. Sure the Cobra's can make big numbers but the new 5.0's are running better ET's with less whp and less $$$ invested thus making it a better budget minded weekend warrior.

Cobra's need more aftermarket parts then you think to run good ET's given their whp #'s
CAI and Tunes on the 5.0L can give you 50rwhp+?

Also, I thought the Cobras were running low high 11s with pulley swaps, tunes, and exhaust on stock tires?

BigDan was exagerating a bit. Dollar for dollar the Cobra is still much faster than the 5.0 and puts down way more power, the irs doesnt help traction too much but for serious peopl an SRA swap isnt a big deal. Notice hes talking about ET's and not MPH. anyways i like the 5.0 though because its a fresh new car and still has an incredible amount of potential.

I did, which is why I said high 11s. I'm sure you'd be the one to know what a Cobra can do with some DRs.

i open enough cans as it is wouldnt you say???

If youre talking about speed, the cobra still wins out over the 5.0 but its always nice to get into a new car. The fact that the cobra has held its value so well makes the choice easier to jump into a new car because the hit on the wallet wont be so bad

there are too many things to list as to why theyre so good. Ill just say its easy to make big power because the engine was so well engineered.

they didnt REALLY stop making them per say, theyre the predecessors of the GT500

Wait are we taking about a 03-04 terminator cobra or older? No way was it a 03-04 cobra, probably a GT with cobra emblems
