Yes, I know all about the muscle car era as I was there watching it.

My point was these cars were a dime a dozen in the mid 70's on used car lots.
Nobody was "restoring" yet. You could pick them for cheap.
You could buy Mid Year Corvettes for less than 2K

Most (not all) drove them for a few years and traded them off or sold them.
You just didn't see a whole lot of really nice ones on the road.

I am sure there were a few around, otherwise you wouldn't find the occasional unmolested example today.

Anyway, I sure wish I wouldn't have sold that '69 back then.
I remember test driving an all original 69 Z/28 in the summer of 74. It was black on black, white stripes, 302, 4-Speed, cowl hood, spoilers, 8k tach, and console w/gauges. It was mint. They were asking $1800 for it and I didn't buy it because it was too much money. A few months later I bought a mint 69 COPO w/29,000 actual miles. It was a L72 425HP 427, THM400 on the column, red w/black interior, cowl hood and spoilers. I paid $1500 for it. This was just after the first oil shock in the early 70's. Muscle cars were a dime a dozen. Those really were the good old days!

I sold it in 2008 when things weren't going so well enconomy wise.
In 2011 I bought the 02 35th Ann. LE. I still have this one for now, but I'm working on another one, so not sure how much longer I'll have it.

Thanks Man! I know I'll miss it when it's gone.

That car is bad ass!!! Keep it!!!
