Going solo

Got my solo axle back with J pipes from Apex today. I had a couple questions for Apex and they were very cool people to work with, and very helpful. I haven't had it installed yet, but I am getting that done tomorrow.

I only have one question, isn't the J pipe suppose to be turned the other way? I assume it's curled over like that for shipping, but I am just making sure

I'll post pics of the final product, and hopefully I can get a video to work

Correct - had them on my '14 SS. The capped j-pipe ends will face each other.

I've watched several videos, and I liked the sound

How happy were you in person?

You have to be kidding me. $500?

I hate to rain on your parade, but $497 for some "F'd" up plumbing? Really?

I did these:
Short glass packs
Here's the Summit page: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/imm-87522cb

And these tips
Square tips
Here's the Summit page: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gib-500534

This is what it sounds like.

Keep in mind I did the video with my cell phone. Yeah I know, the license plate is my wife's, that's her DD.

The nice thing about the glass packs is they remove any trace of higher frequency so you don't get what I call cackle. The muffler shop (independent, not a chain) warned against straight pipes. They stood up and took notice of this when they got it done.

Mufflers, tips and labor $307. Keep in mind you can get any tip shape you want. Mine are square cause it looks better in a square hole. And I wanted them outside the facia not drop back where you couldn't see them. NO DRONE at all. Not even a little.

The rest of the system is completely stock.

The F'ed up plumbing works extremely well for the V-6 cars.
I know there are a lot more no drone options for the V-8 cars.

On my '13 SS it eliminates drone altogether. If, for some reason, the customer likes drone, they are adjustable to allow the desired amount.

OP, you are going to love these pipes! And, yes... the j-pipes are like tey are for shipping. Upon installation, they will swing up under the trunkspace facing each other. Instructions are very thorough and easy to follow.

I didn't get any instructions?

Unless they're in the bubble wrap around the tips
