I use Mobile One and AC Filters for the most part but I always change my oil at 3,000 miles if not before no matter the cost. I have torn motors apart and seen what damage it can do if ppl just dont take the time to change there oil Right. to each is his own I am sure 4k or even 5k you can get by with but to me when it turns black its time to change it.

I change it in the fall before winter storage.

Since I drive 10,000 or less per year, that's all it takes.

It's a DD, but only April-November.

PS: use 5W-30, like the fill cap says. What's all this with 10W-30? Stuck in the 1980s?

I got to <5% oil life. I use 5w30 Royal Purple full synthetic. Typically get 10-12K miles out of it.

I typically change oil at 3k miles. Since my signature lsx cars struggle to do 600 miles a year, I will change the oil in those cars once a year.

I believe AMSOIL recommends 12.5k as their preferred change interval for their filter.

We reccomend 12k for severe use which is what most people in this forum would fit in. Please don't use our oils up to 12k without using the correct oil filter, we reccomend the EA15K series filters which made to be ran for 25,000 miles.... synthetic media in action baby

Lots of wasted oil here

If you don't do at least a couple of UOAs, you're just operating on feel-good hearsay. It turns out that oil analysis proves that the factory engineers who designed the OLMs knew what they were doing. Surprise!

Spend some time on BITOG to educate yourself.
