Surprise! New Chevy SS is a rebadged Pontiac G8.
Was looking at the 2014 Camaros, then saw the ugly SS. Then came home to verify this...

I thought everyone knew the SS was derived from the same chassis as the Pontiac G8.....at least car enthusiasts should know that. You're making it sound like a bad thing that it's based on the G8. The G8 was the only cool car from Pontiac when Pontiac died.
The Camaro is actually based on a modified, shortened version of the Chevrolet SS/Pontiac G8 chassis.

Surprise, no it's not.
G8 = VE Commodore. SS = VF Commodore. In fact I'm pretty sure it would've been illegal for GM to rebadge the G8 as a Chevrolet.

That's a good question. I'm not sure, but I'd assume there's some sort of warranty that still applies. Not sure if it's the standard 5 year/100k mile powertrain one though.

I loved the G8's even though it was a 4 door. I hope to add one to my stable in a few years, a Stryker Blue GT or GXP.
