Not talking about just teasing here, ever seriously been insulted for not having 8 cylinders?

I only ask because the other day I was driving and a kid in a '99 Trans Am pulkls up and started givin me grief. yellin things like "you're a ****in ****** for drivin a V6" things of that nature.. but my personal favorite, "I have a 5.7 Liter, you have a 3.8!" I would have taken offence to that if the kid had known how unlikely it is for a purple pearl metallic V6 to have a 3.8.. seeing as they were only produced in 93 and 94. lol

I did. The rustang guys were bad, but the F-body guys were the worst. Buncha cacks, a Camaro is a Camaro. If they're giving you sh_t about ur 6, then they're only driving the 8 to compensate for other areas in which they may be lacking...

Well, people would like to give me crap for having a 6, but when they see the paint, they go right for that instead.
Of course, mine's disguised to look like a Z28, so I guess I'm pretty safe on that end anyways.

I get crap about it ALL the time.. even some neighbor guy walking buy with his 6y/o kid. Kid said ohhh daddy look! and the dad just grabbed his arm and said - it's just an RS! OK so he was obviously an idiot since RS doen't have anything to do with the engine LOL But I wasn't outside to defend her, my hubby heard it and came in to tell me.

the answer i find that gets them off my back (after trying to explaine that 312hp is adequate for a v6 and they are still on me) is to ask them if they know what a trophy wife is and would they want one? I usually get nod and a blank stare and tell them - it's the same thing... She may not be the fastest or the brightest - but damn she makes me look good!

that usually gets them laughing and they leave me alone

I had one person mention this issue to me until I took them for a "spirited" ride...After a couple patch laying takeoffs, WOT 2nd gear shifts and some sideways action, he was done talking crap...

Look don't worry about it:

There are a lot more V6 Camaro's out there than V8's.
You have got 312 hp, that is more than most older V8's.
How often do you get people giving you the thumbs up, or stare at you car, or say "sweet ride".

What does it matter what a few losers say. Enjoy your Camaro!!
