headlight replacement???

Question is what should I do. I bought a 2012 camaro lt convertible 45th anniversary edition rs with front end damage. I've found a good and fenders and a bumper all oem parts. My problem or question is headlights. The original oem headlights are are crazy money. I'm told they were halo hid lights. The replacement oem ones would cost me like 1300 and that is getting them at my friends cost who is a parts manage for a dealership. It was almost like 1000 per headlight for a guy coming in of the street.

Should I just bite the bullet and get the oem ones or is there something equivalent aftermarket I could live with. Any info would help. Pictures really help. Where I could purchase them as well? Thanks

headlight replacement???

Eek. I hope you don't have any troubles with that! I would suck it up and pay for the OEM one if you only have to replace one of them. If you have to replace both, many people have found a cheaper alternative to the halos, but you cant necessarily use the halos by themselves on them. But expect to still pay $200-$400 per headlight or more for decent HIDS.

you can always check the junk yards, but would be real hard to find.

It's both headlights. Why are the oem ones so special what do they do that makes them worth so much $$$?
