2ss sts turbo system

i did a search, and all i could find was about the v6 sts turbo kits...
i was going to get one for my 2010 2ss, i told a person at boost logic about my plans, and he told me not to go with them,...some thing about poor quility turbos, and the system is over rated, he said to come on here and ask around, also he told me it will be best to just get the twin turbo set up for under the hood......so im new to the turbo thing.and to this site..any help would be alsome

Hellion, IPS, and Granatelli are what guys on here use. Almost nobody has STS for twins. Look up my car on here and you'll see.

There's a guy in our club that can tell you all about the STS system.. His was on a v6, but honestly, the way it's designed I don't think the issues he had would have been any different had it been on a v8.

There's a reason you don't see many on here rolling around with them.

There is a guy on here from SoCal that has the STS setup. Maybe he can chime in. Kit puts down impressive power, but sounds like a party favor when the turbo's spool up. You remember those little kazoo looking things that you blew into as a kid and they squealed? Sounds just like that only louder, much much louder.

I had an STS on my G8gt and it made over 600rw on 10psi. Everything else was stock besides a boost a pump. Just did a camaro at the shop and on 5psi the car ran like a bat out of hell. Yes the turbos could be a better quality but they do the job that was intended.

I think part of what scares people away from the STS kit is the location of the turbo's... Yes, they put down impressive numbers, but I can only imagine the boost lag... There is a lot of exhaust pipe before you get to the turbo's, and then a lot of boosted pipe running back to the front of the car... All of this space has to be filled before the boost affects the intake... Plus you get a lot of exhaust cooling, condensing, of the gases in that travel distance...

Mine, TTI/Granatelli, the Hellion Kit and IPS are all very close to the exhaust manifold and have almost no boost lag whatsoever...

I've heard they make big hp numbers but the 1/4 mike times are dismal. Now if you wanna play on the autobahn, you might like it.

If the car is setup correctly, you can eliminate a lot of the boost lag. Good heat retention in the exhaust and proper sizing can go a very long way in spool time.

If you choose to get more aggressive, converter choice and gearing have a part to play in spool time as well.

I do not have hand on experience with the STS but a remote mount car can work very well. The time it takes for the boost to hit can also help with traction. Both systems have pro's and con's.

Also, nitrous is problem solver when it comes to lag.

I have the STS Twin setup. Have had it for about 1 year now. What do you want to know? I'll try to answer you question(s) as best and honestly as I can.
