NP Bro. Im currently fighting that battle in my head. I could afford the SS, but it would be BASE BASE, nothing fancy.

Orrrr I could get a 2LT with the RS and goodies, drive it for a few years, then use a bit of the money i saved, and a bit more, and buy a LS7 to pop in there.

I went to a pontiac dealership a couple years ago when I was shopping for my Grand Prix. They didn't have an GT's in, but the dealer could tell I was bummed, and I had driven quite a ways to check one out. He ran into his office and came out with the keys to an '06 GTO. He tossed them to me and said "leave some rubber on the tires"

I was 18 at the time. As long as you sound interested, and don't screw off, they're more than happy to show you what they've got. I also took an STS Sport for a drive when I was 18, granted the salesman came with me...

I have to say it completely depends on the dealer. When I bought my Evo, the guy wouldn't let me drive it, instead took me for a ride. He was absolutely insane, doing everything he could to prove to me how hard it was to break loose an awd car.

Needless to say I didn't go home in THAT car.

Regardless of the power of my SS when I take ownership, just the feeling will be "wow" enough to sustain me... until I am stricken with the mod bug.

I actually call that "the itch." When I get the itch, I scratch it with mods.

Are you saying you'd rather rub cream on yourself than buy performance parts? And you call yourself a car enthusiast.

How about... a cream rub from Megan Fox, in the Camaro, already modded. Whoa... that got weird-er...

BS

Im 22, and I test drove the new mustang, new challenger, and the new G8 GT (I took it to 99mph too, in fact the dealer really liked me, he thought I knew everything there was to know about cars). Next on the list is the Caddilac CTS, I want to test out the engine as I'll be getting the V6 mustang.

It helps when you go with your co worker that looks like your dad...

Also, I loved the G8, if for some reason I dont get the Camaro (like not enough back seat room) then Im getting a G8 GT, nuff said.

Headpunter, are you serious...you're only 21 years old?!!! Honestly, I'm impressed! You, along with a small handful of the other members are the ones who I most look forward to reading. Truthfully, as knowledgeable as you are, I really believed you were quite a bit older! Good job and God Bless...!

That's what I'm hoping to pick up once they drop to low 20s.

I never get an alone test drive. Stupid sales guy always comes along.
