5TH Gen IROC Camaro

OHHH, sick burn! :( Especially since my baby is one. It doesn't have the huge door stickers or pin-striping, but I really like the look of it--the agressive GFX, the hood-louvres (as functional as the mail-slot, but still!), the suspension setup... the car may have been slower than the 5.0 in stock form, but it was still ahead of its time in a lot of ways.

And if you think about it, that third gen handles better than most cars on the market today (I believe the later IROCs pulled .92g?). The TPI system, while not ideal, was the predecessor to the hallowed LT1, which is when Chevy started kicking the Mustang's butt again The LT1's FI system was a modified TPI setup as I understand it. Now of course the LS1 came out in 97 (98 in the maro/firebird) and totally changed everything, but it is an important piece of our cars' history.

I, for one, would TOTALLY dig a 5th gen IROC as long as it wasn't overdone. But seeing some of the crazy things people do anyway, I don't think it would be much more than that :P I like my cars kinda plain Jane.

IROC should go the way of acid wash jeans and "pegging" your pants...let it die....Bring back Yenko and the Z28 before that nightmare
