I managed to get her shut down and turned with smoke boiling out of the hood vents..small fire near the passenger side turbo... put it out with a water ext....towed back to the pits. Blown head gasket and maybe some burned oil supply lines...

Ill be back in march schedule provding... the new LSA heads are already at the machine shop pulled all the plugs and motor seems fine...

Oh well you wanna go fast stuff breaks...we'll fix it and be back

Sorry to hear that, I know the C5 community was behind you 100% to see you get your goal. At least now you have some test data for March, who knows, maybe you'll be able to get some more stuff done like the racing spoiler you wanted!

You guys are amazing and I truly appreciate all the support... Brandi will be fine and I am too, other too much rum this evening... I love this Camaro5 family...

Thanks for all the support... It has been and continues to be a great weekend. I spoke to my wife earlier, and my son... Wife is very supportive and encouraging... She is pleased with how much fun I'm having... She supports me 110%....

I can't begin to describe how it feels to accelerate to world record speeds in one mile... A friend out here with his 4 door CTSV Caddy told me to look out the side window between the 3/4 and mile finish, and OMG... There was nothing but a brown blur... This was friggin amazing and I am hooked... BIG TIME...

I didn't get the world record, and I have no complaints or excuses... I'll get it... And I'm so waiting and excited...

Glad to hear it was fun. I've been to enough racing events to know that when racing "shit happens." You fix it and try again. It's how it works on the "bleeding edge." I think you did amazingly well for your first shot at this!

Terri, thanks for the comment... I feel like I did well also, and there is no denying I drove the crap out of the car on my last run...

In fourth gear alone I went 100%, 60%, 100, 60% .... Five times feathering the throttle on and off trying to get traction... It was unreal... I spun the tires in 5th gear around 190 mph... Who does that....

Hitting 198 (rounded..) yesterday with NO Spray is just sic and something to really hang your hat on. Don't think we have seen a single 5th Gen do that yet.

Todays run just found the weak link which you were already prepared for. Get those heads on and we'll all make it back out there again. I'll run the ZL1 too.

I am speechless and am in awe.

Bonneville has been on my bucket list for too long. I don't even have the cajones to run my car that fast. But I sure as hell can watch someone else do it! I'm super motivated to go now.

Major props for a proper shake down weekend. If everything went perfect, you'd be even more "worried".

:respect:

Watching you run is now added to the bucket list. Much respect and congratulations.

Jason

Very reliable rumor has it that there will be another 5280 foot in the Houston area in February or March... I'm looking forward to some more HIGH Speed passes... This is seriously addictive...

Jason, thank you for the props... It was fun and I have certainly enjoyed sharing it with my Camaro5 family... I'll be back faster than ever and ready to romp...

Congrats Robert. Keep up the charge. EVERYONE is watching this. We are all glad you didn't stack it up and Brandi is back in the stable with a very repairable wound. This is just as exciting as some dude jumping out of a balloon at 125,000+ feet with a parachute. Next thing for you is the sound barrier! Be safe and don't stopping dreaming. JIM
