Those with a muffler delete...and some other exhaust questions
Did you put resonators in there (four total, two stock and two to replace the muffler) or just pipes from the stock resonators to the tips?
I have a guy that is doing a custom job for me on Thursday...he's going to use stainless and do a pretty nice job to delete the mufflers. He's also thinking about getting into the Camaro business by designing a CAI and maybe selling as a package with the muffler delete if anyone would be interested in that....let me know...but anyhow... Also, looking under the car for the first time, aside from the crush welds near the rear axle, I see (in my humble opinion) that the majority of ANY gains you would see from a catback would be just from removing those God awful mufflers...am I mistaken? |

I assume the "6spd" caption means a manual trans car.
My opinion: Leave the factory H pipe and small resonators in place. Doing a muffler delete on an M6 is too LOUD and will get you into trouble. Suggest using small straight through packed mufflers like Cherry Bomb or Magnaflow. Be prepared for some decel popping. Do the muffler change for the sound. THE BEST performance gain is with a tune!

Lots of other muffler threads but:
I would not recommend the Magnaflow True-X muffler because of the drone noise just under 2000 RPM. Very annoying! Just took mine off.

So I'm ok with just no mufflers (keeping the stock resonaters and cats though)? That's what we had planned...

BUMBLEB - I notice that even though you have LTH the CAT sensors are still connected. I thought that one of the problems with LTH was the sensors would not hook up?

I have a muffler delete, it sounds great but I'm not loving the decel pop. I ordered Magnaflow Tru-X crossovers after hearing someone else's Camaro with that setup. I'm getting it installed when I get home.
You'll love it though. Drastic improvement, and you shave approximately 30 pounds off the vehicle's weight when you dump those mufflers.

I simply took my M6 to a local muffler shop.
They cut off the stock mufflers, bent some new tube, cut off the stock tips and welded it all together. It looks great, similar to stock without the big metal cans hanging from under the rear of the car. The sound is similar to that of the Magnaflow cat-back I had on my 2005 C6. Sounds like a sportscar should!!! I can't think of why anyone wouldn't do it! |

I guess a lot of people are fine with it, but it was a little too much for me. I'd post a video, but I'm in Afghanistan right now, lol.

on my L99 we put a A6 (I mean M6, Thanks - Roger Ramjet) exhaust from headers back, including h-pipe, and small resonaters. then a muffler delete, sounds bad ass. and all for FREE...lol best part!

Do you mean a 'M6' exhaust?
