Srt8 to 2SS.

Hello all, my name is Patrick I'm from New Jersey. I have a Jeep srt8 that will be sold tomorrow and my IO 2013 2ss will be here on Friday. I would like to do a few simple mods to the ss like cai, exhaust, and a tune but I'm seeing that Gm really has it in for voiding warranties for a simple tune. With my Jeep I did a cam swap, under pulley, cai, and tune. I've had my truck into the dealer twice with these mods and all I had to do was flash the stock tune to the truck before going in for the service. Both times the truck was serviced it was covered under my warranty with no issue, one time I spun a bearing in the block and the entire small block was replaced all with not a word of my mods being mentioned. I see people mention to find a mod friendly dealer but if you need any serious work done I'm sure GM would send a rep out to look over the damage before allowing it to be a warranty claim, and if GM has it in for using a tune as a scape goat to get out of repairing a vehicle I would end up being SOL. Any how that's my worry at this point but I'm really looking forward to getting the car the IO color is just so damn sweet!

Welcome!

Yeah, the tune will put you beyond the point of return! Proceed at your own risk.

Either way, enjoy the Camaro!

It all depends on the dealer. I never had any problems with minor mods like your talking about. Now a cam and deeper mods like that, I won't warranty the drivetrain if I was a dealer.

Patrick, CONGRATS on the ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Congrats on the new ride. You definitely want to find a mod friendly dealership to work with but, like most of the manufacturers these days, GM is not a fan of modifying the tune. Here is a link to a bulletin GM released a while back with some more info.

Oh, and...
